Marvin Hagler was born to be a fighter.
In every sense of the word possible, that’s who he was. A true fighter and survivor.
On the inside and outside.
He said it himself best perhaps one time:
“If they cut my bald head open, they will find one big boxing glove. That’s all I am. I live it.”
This time 37 years ago he conveyed this to one unexpecting opponent:
This month has been a terrible month really for anyone that loves boxing.
Hagler passing was like a piece of the sport’s soul passing.
Who was he?
A follower of God, a fighter, one of life’s great survivors and a man who stopped at nothing.
Gone but not forgotten. Rest in peace Marvelous Marvin Hagler.
